The GroundBreaker broadfork from Ahavah Farm Tools is a solid addition to my farm toolshed. The design and craftsmanship are excellent; light but strong. This broadfork won't wear you out before the job is done.

I don't ever write reviews but this broad fork "Ground breaker mini" has to be mentioned. This thing is a work of art! First off the broad fork tines are spaced correctly. Unlike others you might purchase and have to cut off a couple of tines to get the right spacing. It's light enough to carry around, but heavy enough to do the job in solid dirt. Don't mistake a cheap broad fork for a quality broad fork like this one. I've worked at a farm for 10 years total and we've used a broad fork as heavy as a truck and one we had to cut the tines off for better spacing. This broad fork is quite the opposite. It's a very thought out product. The handle feels perfect for the size of the broad fork. Sturdy handle and replaceable if it ever did break from you leaving it outside. The plasma engraving is something else also. Quality! I've never seen anything like it. That's why I mentioned not leaving it out to get weathered. I give the Ground Breaker Mini a 10 out of 10.
Thanks Ahavah Farm Tools!

The Ahavah Farm Tools broadfork is hands down the best broadfork I’ve used. The square stock tines bite beautifully into compacted soil, and the solid wood handles hold up to real field work. It’s a powerful, beautifully crafted tool built for growers who take soil seriously.
“I’ve been working on no-till farms for the last eight years, and in that time I’ve used a lot of different broadforks. This one is my favorite. It’s so much lighter than the all-metal broadforks I’ve been using over the last few years, but burlier and more durable than the other wooden handled forks I’ve used in the past. The flat horizontal bar makes it easy on my feet, especially in the summer, when I tend to wear lightweight barefoot shoes. It looks great, works well, and it comes from a great company. I’ve known and worked with Asher and his family for several years now, and I can assure you that if you buy this broadfork, you’ll be supporting some folks who really know and care about ecological community based farming.”

Finaly there is a durable, reliable broadfork that won't break itself! The "Groundbreaker" from Ahavah Farm Tools sets the bar high with durable long lasting craftmanship that holds up against hard, compacted ground. After having many previous broadforks fail for various reasons (handles loosening teeth breaking) the "Groundbreakers" craftsmanship stands above them all. The simple design with handcrafted and stronger materials have this model stand above the rest. The comfortable step plate makes working long beds a breeze, with the "Groundbreaker Mini" perfect for smaller areas and intricate corners. I look forward to these tools lasting a VERY long time. 100% recommended.

I absolutely love this broadfork. You can immediately tell it’s handmade. The welds are clean, solid, and clearly built to last. It feels incredibly strong and sturdy in your hands.
What really stands out to me is the shape of the tines. They’re thoughtfully designed and move through the soil beautifully. I farm in hard, dry clay soil, and this tool does an amazing job breaking it up without feeling flimsy or strained. It penetrates well and lifts the earth effectively, making a tough job much easier.
If you’re working with compacted or heavy soil and want a tool that’s built with real craftsmanship, this is it. Highly recommend.

“ We recently had the pleasure of trialing three different GroundBreaker broadforks from Ahavah Farm Tools: the mini, the regular, and the XL :)
What makes them special:
- Beautiful craftsmanship…quality materials, quality build… for instance, the welds are thick and thorough
- Well-balanced, and we really like that the layout is “flat” (straighter tines, stores more compactly)
- Square-shaped tines…we agree, these do a better job of heaving the soil than rounded or blade-like tines
- Wider foot-step for more comfort (we have a resident “barefoot” shoe enthusiast, too!)
- These are made locally, in Peyton, Colorado!
How did they do? For our part, we run 30” beds, and we’re all of medium stature / build. The regular model felt best for us. We like the leverage of the longer handles seen on the earlier prototypes, but truth told, the shorter handles worked surprisingly well for us once we got the hang of it (with the GroundBreaker, and stock handle length, you’re positioned more over the top of the fork, letting your weight push it down to roll it back, vs traditional forks where you’re positioned a little more behind it, step-and-pull-back). The five-tined XL fork (with a long-handled option) would be good if you’re big-and-tall…and awesome if running 36”-wide beds! The Mini is good for tight spaces, and a great fit for gardeners turning over little corners of their beds here and there. All three models feel wonderfully solid, and the aeration was excellent (good soil-heave, structure intact, and nice deep tine holes to help). We turn our vegetable beds over with every crop, glad to have such nice tools to work with!
Hats off to you guys!
